San Francisco Personnel

Silver Avenger Maria Chow
Sadly, Avenger Chow is known more by the public for her flamboyant lifestyle than for the good job she does for investigating crime and keeping the Bay Area safe from paranormals. No Avenger, not even the Golden Avenger, puts in more hours in a week at work than Maria -- but few people believe it. One of the wildest Avengers, she's dated politicians, movie stars, rock stars, superheroes -- but never for very long, and sometimes with tabloid-headline results.

As a boss, Avenger Chow is generally good, though on occaision she micro-manages. She detests paperwork, however, generally leaving it to Agent Kestler. If there is a chance for combat during a mission, Avenger Chow will generally be there.

Avenger Chow is of mixed Asian and Latin descent. She is 5'3 and thin, with black hair and almond-shaped brown eyes.

Base Commander Alan Thurmond
A PRIMUS veteran from the 1970s, Thurmond is getting close to retirement, something for which he is profoundly grateful. Though dedicated to his job, Thurmond has grown weary of the bureaucratic nonsence that he deals with daily. He, like Avenger Chow, feel like they didn't sign on to sit at meetings, and though he knows he's too old and out of practice to ever see combat again, he misses the excitement.

Thurmond spends his free time with his teenage children, sailing, and playing golf. He is balding and now in his late fifties.

Intelligence Agent Friday Brown (PC, PRIMUS Game)
Agent Brown has been at the San Francisco PRIMUS Base since graduating from the Academy several years ago. She's distinguished herself in many investigations, but most recently in uncovering the existence of a new organization. She is fond of extreme sports, martial arts and handsome men. Friday is an attractive African-American woman in her twenties.

Intelligence Agent

Assault Agent Brad Nicolson
In his early thirties, Agent Nicolson applied to PRIMUS three years after graduating from college with a degree in computer science. One of the lucky few who was able to tolerate Cyberline, Nicolson was persuaded to join the ranks of the Assault agents, though initially he had thought he would join the ranks of PRIMUS' Computer Crimes division.

Nicolson is the guy most agents call when they have a computer problem, something he tries not to let bother him. It has parlayed itself into a few dates with female agents, and it was how he got to know his current girlfriend, Intelligence Agent Aurora Scott.

Nicolson is 5'10 with brown hair, hazel eyes and a muscular build.

Intelligence Agent Leila Narain
Born in London to an Indian mother and Arab father, Leila Narain became a naturalized American citizen while in college. Primarily raised in the Bay Area by her mother and stepfather (her parents divorced when she was five), Leila grew up speaking Arabic, Hindi and Tamil. She learned English only after starting school and picked up Russian while in college. She was recruited into PRIMUS directly from college and often is called upon to act as a translator both by PRIMUS and occasionally the FBI. She is the base's specialist on Arab and Indian paranormals.

Now 29, she continues to live with her mother and stepfather in Pacific Heights. Agent Narain is 5'2 with black hair and brown eyes. She is nominally Hindu but does not practice, though she is a vegetarian.

Intelligence Agent Faris MacArthur
The SF Base's specialist on independent mercenary paranormals is a distant relative of General MacArthur. Agent MacArthur travels frequnetly, briefing agents in other western bases about the paranormals she studies and also teaches at the PRIMUS Academy several months out of the year, though she continues to be based in San Francisco.

Agent MacArthur is a slight woman in her late thirties with dark blond hair and blue eyes. She is married to a San Francisco businessman and has three children.

Assault Agent Terry Kestler
Terry is one of the youngest women involved in PRIMUS. She had initally intended to work in PRIMUS' Accounting division; however, her history as a gymnast at Stanford and her moderate tolerance of Cyberline led the young woman to decide on a career as an assault agent.

Kestler is an attractive woman, strong and fast even before she started treatment with Cyberline. Her height -- 5'10 -- had made a career in gymnastics an impossibility; besides, Kestler was too practical to be interested in a career so fleeting.

Currently Kestler works closely with Maria Chow, serving as her primary aide. Kester's combat skills are being improved, and she is working on developing stronger group tactical skills. Her high motivation has led to investigations of her own, and Kestler seeks as many combat-oriented missions as she can. It is expected that Kester will be promoted to Agent Commander within five years.

Kestler is 5'10, with slightly longer than shoulder length blond hair. Her eyes are a dark blue, and she alternatively exudes youthful exuberance and cautiousness. She wears the PRIMUS Assault agent's blue uniform when in the field, though often she comes to work dressed in suits.

Intelligence Agent Leon Harvey
At thirty-two, Leon Harvey decided that teaching freshman chemistry and scrambling for grant money was no way to spend his time, and he made a radical change: he joined PRIMUS. He has been the intelligence agent in charge of forensics in the Bay Area for five years now and loves it.

Leon is married with an eighteen-month-old daughter. He is 5'10, slightly overweight and has brown hair and eyes.

Public Relations Specialist Kitty Cochrane
If she'd stayed in her native Mississippi, Kitty would have redefined "Steel Magnolia." As it was, her move to the Bay Area after her marriaged changed everything: neither her husband nor her accent lasted long, but she took the city by storm. Kitty became PRIMUS' Public Relations Specialist in 1990 and is the main reason the base has a good reputation. She has wheeled and dealed, cajoled and manipulated the press into publishing her version of events and hers only. Rumor has it the only person in PRIMUS with more dirt on the agents is Intelligence Director Avery Vasquez.

Kity is in her late thiries (admits only to 32) with frosted hair and blue eyes. She is an attractive woman who commands the room when she enters it.

Computer Specialist Gareth Wong
Gareth is a contractor with a high security clearance, primarily responsible for maintaining agents' computer systems. He has a deep suspicion that all PRIMUS agents (save Nicolson) are incapable of using a computer properly and should not be permitted to. The only thing Wong finds worse than an agent with a computer is an Iron Guard agent with a computer.

He has been trying to get a date with Agent Narain for three years, always unsuccessfully. Wong is 5'9 with black hair and brown eyes. His hair is generally out of place.

Legal Counsel Meriel Morrissey
A Stanford roommate of Agent Kestler, Morrissey attended Boalt Hall and graduated two years ago. After deciding the high-profile firm she joined was not for her, she let Kestler persuade her to join PRIMUS, and she's enjoyed every minute of it -- well, all except for the time VIPER attacked the base and her new BMW blew up...or the time she was present when Foxbat was questioned and he decided she was the new love of his life...

Meriel has violet eyes, black hair, and is quite pretty. She and Kestler often go out to lunch together.

Other SF Base Notables

Intelligence Agent Jane Carroff plays on a women's soccer league; a group of agents banded together to help sponsor her team. Agent Commander David Martinez recently returned to duty after recovering from severe injuries sustained during a combat with VIPER-Force 1. Intelligence Agent Frank Mahan was nationally recognized for the investigation he led, in which five South American paranormals were arrested running drugs for a large cartel. Physician Stella Bergamante recently published the results of her research into the heightened immune systems of Assault agents in JAMA.

Golden Avenger DJ Johnson still owns a house near the PRIMUS base and drops by -- unannounced -- more than anyone would like. Celebrities are often spotted wearing visitor's badges on tours led by Avenger Chow.
