Ferret Behavior

Ferrets are some of the wackiest animals around, and they take playing very seriously. They have a few important idiosyncracies that prospective owners need to be aware of.

Stealing:
Ferrets will take just about anything that isn't nailed down back to their nest. This is one of Arthur's favorite corners from an old apartment. (We called this the great sock pile).

Don't take off your shoes!

Not around Owain and Kai, that is!

The Great Plunger Incident:
I just about died laughing when I saw this scene.
Getting into things: This unfortunately dark image is of Arthur getting into the bottom drawer of a dresser -- one of his favorite nap spots!

Sleep time:

Sometimes ferrets like to buddy up. This is Llew with Gruffudd.

Sleep Time:
Ferrets have a tendency to "disk" when they sleep -- they curl into tight balls.

Discipline:
When raising our ferrets, we disciplined them with a squirt bottle. We would warn them before squirting, and for the most part, now I can merely scold them and they will stop.

(Gwen and Arthur were obviously not scared of the water bottle!)
