Visit the Menagerie! It's the best way to keep in touch with us, as Shelley usually posts at least once a day.

We're relative newcomers to the Pacific Northwest (since 1999), though Shelley was born in Washington. We're both products of military families and have, between the two of us, lived in seventeen states and three countries. Naturally, we love to travel.

Shelley & Eden in early July 2007We met and married in Nevada (in 1992). Both of us graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno (Matthew '94 Nursing, Shelley '97 History).

Our daughter, Eden Alexandra, was born June 4, 2007!

For several years, we've maintained the Dancing Ferret, a website designed to teach people the basics about domestic ferret care and behavior.

One of our early hobbies was roleplaying gaming (Shelley even published PRIMUS, a supplement for Hero Games in 1998). You can find our archived Champions materials here. We also host the Red October archives and Deejay's Champions Writeups.

Matthew is a Registered Nurse and the Medical Services Manager at Bonneville Power Administration. He enjoys online gaming, cryptography and reading military science fiction on his Pocket PC.

Shelley Chrystal Mactyre 
Shelley graduated from law school in May 2005 and practices law in Hillsboro. She loves to garden, hike, play the piano, read histories, write novels, and cook Moroccan food. Visit Shelley's Homepage for more information.

Eden Mactyre
So far, Eden's interests extend to eating, burping, sleeping, bathing, and being frequently changed -- not a bad life, really. She's been known to go to sleep when Shelley reads statutes out loud and to cry whenever we get to the best bits in a Venture Brothers episode.

The Menagerie 
Last year Belgian Malinois Norris lost a leg to cancer, but boy, what a recovery he's made!  Nika, Nessa, Gwen, Arthur, Owain, Llewelyn, Eleanor, Brigit, Gruffudd and Kai are across the rainbow bridge.
